Exercise Can Be Fun - The Wave The Latest In Home Workout Equipment

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

The principle of the Wave is easy. Laid on the floor curved side up, the exercise base is firm and can be used for stepping exercises, rehabilitation, elders and those whose balance is bad, and with workout bands threaded through gaps in the frame, toning exercises can be performed. Curved side up, both are also suited for floor-based exercise - Abs, back, and oblique muscles can be strengthened lying over the bowed surfaces. Curved side down, both present unstable surfaces for rocking exercises - which are great fun performed to music! In this position, the body engages the core muscles to balance, so exercises carried out in this way are doubly effective and burn a lot of calories.

By just standing on the Wave (curved side up) all your core and stabilising muscles have to engage just to keep you upright. Therefore when you are rocking or doing any exercises on the Wave your muscles have to work harder, so you burn more calories and of course then lose more fat.

The best part is that riding the wave is fun! Why decide on uninteresting workouts on a treadmill or workout bike when you can rock yourself fit.

Friday, November 21st, 2008

Home gyms are increasing in popularity as the equipment technology gets better and the prices get more reasonable. Home gyms remove the distractions common at the commercial gyms and save you time since you don't have to wait for equipment to free up to use them.

Gym memberships can be expensive. And many people who sign up never use their membership because it can be a hassle to find time to drive over and work out. Sole Elliptical Beats Any Treadmill

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

Compared to treadmills, elliptical equipment were not so familiar to me. I knew all about treadmills. I tried working out on a treadmill, but it wasn’t a great experience for me. I didn’t enjoy the moving tread that my feet were slapping against, besides these machines being too loud and cumbersome. My knees got hurt, and besides that, I had a lot of trouble just keeping my balance.

I am one of those people that absolutely hate working out. I like the feeling I have after a good exercise, but it is hard for me to get motivated to work out at all. I enjoy some sort of distraction while exercising. After I had 20 pounds more then usual, I felt a need to get back into shape. The aerobic videos I′ve tried were just too much for me. I wanted to exercise in the gym, but I didn’t have the time to go there regularly. Then my husband suggested that we buy one of the elliptical trainers. We began to research which elliptical machine would give us the most bang for our buck.

And I have decided for a Sole elliptical trainer. There are so many things I enjoy about this machine, but the quietness is the biggest one of them all. I have it set up in my office so that I am able to put my 20 minutes in and watch my favorite show at the same time. Since this elliptical is very quiet, I do not have the turn the TV volume to a deafening level. Elliptical trainer is a quiet machine, especially when compared to treadmill.

One of the other things I enjoy about it is that the foot pads you step on move with you. This means that the footpad will raise together with my foot. There is no slapping your feet on a moving tread. The elliptical trainer offers a fluid motion since the arm bars are moving along with your body, and this is the best way to keep your balance and get a total body workout.
